House Renovation – Beauty Room

Beauty room – View from the door

It occurred to me the other day that whilst eagerly anticipating the day our bedroom is finally finished, that I hadn’t actually posted about the one room in the house that is finished.

Behold the BEAUTY ROOM! Or the salon if I’m feeling posh. This used to be our summer house. Okay, so not technically part of the house but still our first finished room.

Isn’t it lovely?! A slice of white heaven where clients can come to relax and be pampered. I am rather proud of my husband for pulling this all together.

Most of the equipment I had already as I had a beauty room set up in the house before (My old beauty room will soon be becoming our walk in wardrobe). I purchased a new chair, curtains, nice white towels and a new couch cover. I still want to replace my waxing trolley, an old computer desk, but this is taking a back seat whilst we get on with the other decorating in the house.

The dressing table was bought on eBay for £20. I then painted in in Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint and distressed it. I love this! I’m so pleased with how it came out, it is just as I imagined. The chest of drawers houses all my beauty supplies. The tall shelves were a dark wooden colour, and from ikea. I was using this in my beauty room at my mum’s house when I still lived at home. This had the same treatment as the dressing table. I painted it in the old white chalk paint and distressed it so they matched.

I love how the room has turned out and hope clients will love it as much as I do. The beautique is open for business Monday to Thursday evenings and all day Friday and Saturday. Let me know if you fancy having a treatment or just a nose around the place. You’ll have to ignore the state of the rest of the house and garden, they are a works in progress!

Aw thank you very much. I'm so pleased you like it. It's a lovely space to work in. If a little chilly in winter! Xx
