Pregnancy Update – 22 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 22 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

Only 17 weeks and 4 days until little baby is here. It’s so strange as I still don’t feel THAT pregnant. Now the new year is here I am definitely on a mission to get things organised in preparation for baby’s arrival.

How far along? 22 weeks and 3 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby weighs 430 grams and is 10.94 inches long. Baby weighs almost a pound now. Movements of baby are deliberate and with the purpose of preparing its motor skills and coordination. Even though hair is growing on baby’s head, the colour will be white as pigment has not yet developed. Baby’s skin is wrinkled and is of a pinkish-red colour, but still translucent. The limbs are proportionate but baby is still very thin, weighing approximately 1/7 of the final weight at birth. Baby’s brain is beginning to have a period of rapid growth and development. Baby is the size of a an Eggplant and stays this size for the next two weeks.

Maternity clothes: My mum bought me lots of maternity  clothes for christmas so I don’t think I’ll need to buy many other things. She has mostly bought me loose tops and midi dresses. I’d like a few more basic items such as maternity leggings, maternity jeans and maternity tights but I think that’s it.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet and I’ve got a lot better at applying my body butter every night so I hope to keep them at bay.

Sleep: Sleep hasn’t been great this week. Rosalie has been waking randomly at 2 am for the last three nights. She settles again quickly but once Ive got up I have been finding it really hard to get back to sleep. Most nights I have been laying awake until about 4 am. I also have ear ache which means I can’t lie on my left side.

Best moment this week: I have organised a lot of things this week and it feels good to be starting to get things in order for the baby’s arrival. I think we may have decided on a name too.

Miss anything? I did miss glass of prosecco on NYE.

Movement: I have been feeling lots of movement through out the day and night. I would definitely say baby is more active at night but I am not sure if she is or if it’s just because I am more aware of her movements as I am not doing anything else. Most movements can’t be seen from the outside yet so I am looking forward to being able to share the kicks with Daddy and Rosalie when that starts to happen.

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No

Symptoms: Indigestion. This is something I didn’t experience with Rosalie much at all but I am definitely feeling it in the evenings and it isn’t very pleasant at all. Bump and boobies are growing steadily but I haven’t noticed a big increase in size.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I haven’t felt sick for the last week or so. The last time I was sick was on Christmas Eve and I’m still not sure if I had a bug or if it was pregnancy related.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy

How I feel? I feel ok. At the start of the week I did start to feel slightly panicked by how much building work we have to do before the baby arrives. We plan to build a work shop, convert our garage into a study/playroom and decorate the nursery, all in the next 4 months! I have got started on a lot of the organising that I need to do in preparation for this and it has settled my nesting instincts and I am feeling much better about it all.

Looking forward to: This week I am looking forward to getting the house in order. I am planning an epic house tidy tomorrow! Bring it on…

My bump was smaller on my second one. Strange because they said it’s supposed to be bigger. Chloe was also heavier when she was born.

We’ll be keeping it a surprise. My husband loves it but I’m still not 100%! It’s the only one we can agree on though xx

You look so well. Sorry that you are not managing to sleep well at the moment. I have always struggled to sleep in pregnancy. I am glad that you are feeling a little bit more organised. I hope the epic house tidy went well. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Ah you look gorgeous! I always get so jealous when I see bumps as my bump days are behind me sadly! I thought I’d got away with the stretch marks and they got me in the last two weeks. Just a few thankfully but I was gutted! I must have gone through about 3 bottles of bio oil! ha! xx

Thank you lovely lady. They get you when you least expect it. I remember I had some faint ones that appeared under my boobs. Thankfully I used some stretch mark cream and they disappeared. I need to be better with my creaming! xx
