How far along? 19 weeks and 1 day
Due date? 7th May 2027
How is baby doing? Baby is now covered in vermix (a white protective coating) that protects the skin from damage in the womb. Some babies are born with this coating, Rosalie was! It does decrease as the delivery date comes closer. Baby weighs 240 grams and is 6.02 inches long, and is about the size of a grapefruit. Baby is looking more like a baby now, with proportionate arms and legs, presence of fat layers under the skin and clearly defined facial features. If baby is a girl, she will already have half of all the eggs she will be born with. The Gender can now be identified on an ultrasound and right now baby is awake for only 6 hours a day.
Maternity clothes: I have the world’s smallest 20 week bump so still no maternity clothes really needed.
Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I’m still applying the body butter every night!
Sleep: Not so good. I have another cold/cough and I am so sick of it. I never get ill normally and so it’s really getting me down. I think it’s a combination of reduced immunity due to pregnancy and the heating being broken at work. Needless to say I didn’t sleep much last night as I was up all night coughing!
Best moment this week: We have our 20 week scan on Friday and I think that will be the best moment of this week. I am looking forward to seeing baby again and checking she is still a girl.
Miss anything? No
Movement: Yes, I havn’t felt her do any big kicks lately actually but I’ve felt a few flutters.
Gender: It’s a girl!
Labour signs: No
Symptoms: I have been suffering with indigestion the last few days which is strange as I didn’t experience that at all with Rosalie. My bump is getting bigger as are my boobs. I would say that my bump has really started to pop, finally!
Anything making you queasy or sick? No sickness this week. Both Nick and Rosalie have been sick this week so I have been on clean up duty which when you are pregnant is NOT ideal.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy
How I feel? I am feeling good. I have a lovely week planned with my 20 week scan, trips to see friends and lots of Christmas baking with Rosalie. Rosalie’s presents are all wrapped. I have a few more gifts to wrap and then all my jobs will be done and I can just enjoy the run up to Christmas.
Looking forward to: My 20 week scan!
