With the birth of my 2nd baby coming in a few short week I have been think a lot about baby girl’s impending arrival. Last time round I didn’t want to know anything about labour and birth. I didn’t want to watch one born every minute, call the midwife was about as much as I could take. The birth wasn’t something I was looking forward to but I knew I’d get through it.
This time round I couldn’t feel more different. I’m actually rather excited to do it all over again. I have opted to have a home birth this time round and it has made me feel so much more relaxed about the whole experience. I also hope to have the birth photographed by a professional photographer if the timings work.
Channel Mum have asked us to think about all the things that we wished we’d known before giving birth. I’ve filmed a little list of all the things no one told me and I wished they had. I hope you find this useful and that it prepares you a little if you are giving birth soon.

27th February 2017 at 7:40 PMI wish I’d known that there is nothing to know. Every idea you have just doesn’t materialise at all once in that labour room. It’s a frightening time for all mums.

27th February 2017 at 10:13 PMMine didn’t go to plan at all – overdue, induced, emergency c-section – so I don’t think anything would have prepared me!

27th February 2017 at 10:31 PMEvery birth is completely different so sometimes it’s best to just go in blind haha! Unfortunately we don’t have that luxury second time round huh! How exciting about having a home birth 🙂 x

1st March 2017 at 11:14 AMYes I think that is the key thing to remember. Even though you may have had a good one it might not be the same second time round! I am really looking forward to it. My husband really wasn’t keen but I’m so pleased I’ve decided to do it as it has made me feel so much more positive about the birth xx
