Why We LOVE the Costa del Sol

why we love the Costa Del Sol - Roseyhome - Costa Del Sol, Spain, Spain holiday, spanish vacation, attractions, things to do in spain

We have holidayed in the Costa Del Sol many times over the years now. In fact Marbella was the first holiday spot Nick and I went to as a couple almost 10 years ago! We have been on our own, when I was pregnant, with our children. It’s a place we come back to over and over again because it really does cater for everyone. Here are 5 reasons why we love the Costa Del Sol.

1. Beautiful Beaches

There are so many beautiful beaches on the Costa Del Sol. Marbella, has the famous golden mile which runs from Marbella Old town right up until Puerto Banus. Every beach is clean, and has great facilities including play areas for children and beach showers, most have the option to hire sunbeds and parasols.

The busier beaches have parasailing and kayaking opportunities as well as pedalos and jet skis available to hire. During the summer season visitors can also play beach volleyball and various other sports along the fine and sandy beaches.

2. Lots of Family Friendly Activities

There are so many activities and day trips to do in the Costa Del Sol. You can visit the Zoo and Sea Life Aquarium. They are perfect for families with young children. Keeping the kids entertained during a holiday can be tough but with so many great attractions available you family will be catered for.

3. There are so many places to explore!

If you rent a car you will be able to travel to some of the beautiful towns along the Costa Del Sol. Mijas for the gorgeous views, Marbella Old Town for its traditional charm, Peurto Banus to see the Yachts. If exploring Nature is more your thing the caves of Nerja are a fascinating place to visit. At certain times of the year you can even drive up to the mountains and ski.

4. Water park is close by

If you love Water parks like we do Aqualand, Torremolinos is one of the largest in Spain and has everything you could ever dream of when it comes to waterparks! It has a selection of chutes and slides, water rides and splash pools. There is something for kids of all ages but also super fun for adults too.

5. Why not visit Gibralter

If you fancy a change of scene you can always visit Gibralter. Take a cable car to the top of the rock, go sightseeing or even indulge in some tax free shopping. It is always nice to have a taste of home whilst on holiday and Gibraltar doesn’t disappoint.
