New Year Fitness Plans

New Year Fitness Plans - Roseyhome - new year, new year resolution, fitness, fitness plans

Lately, I’ve started to think about my New Year Fitness Plans. I am 7 months post-partum. It’s about time I started to think of ways to improve my fitness. I have two little ones to run around after now. I want to be as fit as I can be because these girls certainly keep me on my toes. I’ll be starting in the New Year as I have Christmas and a family Ski Holiday to enjoy first!

Here’s how I plan to be more Active as part of my New Year Fitness Plan…

Swimming

Seeing as I haven’t done any exercise in over 3 years I plan to start small. I don’t want to over do it. Swimming is an exercise that can be scaled down according to your ability. This means I can start off at a leisurely pace initially but still give my whole body a workout. Swimming really helps to tone the body. After two pregnancies, toning up is top of my fitness goals.

It’s also a great excuse to go shopping. If I’m going to seriously take up swimming I need a new Speedo.

Home Workouts

Home workouts are a great way to exercise. You can do them whenever is convenient in the comfort of your own home. As a mum this means I won’t have to wait until the kids are in bed to work out. I can even get the children involved by encouraging them to train with me. Rosalie will think it’s great fun!

You can find exercise workouts on Youtube for every single sport/fitness discipline you can think of. I love Yoga exercises and HIIT workouts.

Running

Running is an excellent way to keep fit. It’s another exercise that works out your whole body. However, I am only able to run in the evenings when my husband is home. This means I often don’t feel like doing it. I also don’t like running in the dark so the time I have to run in winter is pretty limited.

All the same I’d like to try an improve my running and maybe enter a race next year.

Yoga

I used to practise Yoga when I was pregnant with Rosalie and it’s something I really loved doing. Yoga is a discipline that is good for your mind, body and soul. I always feel very relaxed when I head out of a Yoga session. As a busy mum this is a feeling I strive for!

I hope you have been inspired by my New Year Fitness Plans. Will you be making any plans to get fit in the New Year? How do you plan to do it? I’d love to know.
