How far along? 39 weeks and 6 days
Due date? 7th May 2017, Tomorrow!
How is baby doing? Baby weighs approximately 3,288g and is 50.7cm long. She is about 7lbs this week and is continuing to build up fat under the skin. Her digestive system is now capable of digesting liquid foods and baby is busy peeing at regular intervals. Baby girl’s skin is now a pinkish-red colour. Most of the lanugo body hair is now gone and any remaining amount will fall out soon after birth. Baby isn’t rolling about as much now but instead she is kicking me in the ribs on one side or the other.
Maternity clothes: I am still living in over bump maternity leggings with a different top each day. I am loving a pair of super light sandals I bought on a recent primark haul.
Stretch marks: The stretch marks that appeared under my boobs are still there. I am applying body butter to help with any future stretching as I know they’ll only get bigger when baby arrives and my milk comes in.
Sleep: Sleep is terrible as I just can’t get comfortable at night. I lay on one side until I can bare it no longer because my hips ache and then I roll onto the other side until that gets too painful. I pretty much spend my nights like that. I am very ready to be bump free.
Best moment this week: The garage conversion being nearly complete. It’s been painted and the floor has been laid and we are just waiting for a friend to come and add the skirting which should happen on Monday evening. I’ll be happy then.
Miss anything? Feeling normal. I feel achy all the time. I can’t sit or lay comfortably. I would love to be able to have a good nights sleep although I realise this is unlikely because as soon as I get rid of this bump I’ll have a newborn!
Movement: Movement is pretty much the same. I haven’t felt as many big movements but I guess that’s because there isn’t as much room in there anymore.
Gender: It’s a Girl.
Labour signs: No labour signs. No Braxton Hicks. I’m convinced baby has been staying put because she doesn’t want to come out into our unfinished house.
Symptoms: I have been quite busy this week doing last minute things before baby is born which has made me quite tired. I feel weary. Yet I am not sleeping as I just cant get comfortable. I get Breathless very easily. My hips are achey as I can only lay on my side but then that gets uncomfortable too.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I had a funny turn on wednesday when my vision went all strange for about an hour. I couldn’t focus on anything and my vision was double. This made me feel quite head achey and ill. I had a midwife’s appointment the next day so she tested to make sure I didn’t have any protein in my wee but it was all ok.
Belly button in or out? My belly button is out.
Wedding rings on or off? My wedding rings are on.
Happy or moody most of the time: I am happy but I am also on the verge of tears as everything is so difficult. Everything is a struggle. Getting out of the house, brushing Rosalie’s teeth, doing her hair… She is running around and I am trying to chase her except I can’t chase her because I’m too large.
How I feel? I’m feeling good. The Nursery is pretty much done. I just need to move the old office furniture out and then it’s just the finishing touches to make to Baby’s Nursery. All the fun stuff!
Looking forward to: I am looking forward to not being pregnant ANYMORE!!
