My Pregnancy Update – 34 Weeks

How far along? 34 weeks and 5 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby weighs about 5lbs. By this time most of the lanugo is gone. Baby girl’s immune system is no longer relying on the antibodies from the placenta. This self -immunity is important to protect baby at birth and for the rest of her life. The vermix is disappearing, however a little bit of it will still be left at birth. Baby’s digestive system is fully working by itself. Baby is peeing up to a pint of urine into the amniotic fluid. Even though the placenta is capable of supporting baby up until work, it will start to age this week.

Maternity clothes: We are back home in England and so I have reverted to wearing black maternity leggings with baggy jumpers or shirts every day. I have absolutely no outfit inspiration and any style has totally gone out of the window. I’m pretty much wearing my Nick Free run trainers all the time too as I can kick them off and so I don’t have to bend down to take them off. I have to think about these things now.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks. I am back to applying body butter every night now we are home. My boobs have all of a sudden got bigger so I think this will be where I get them if they do start to appear.

Sleep:Sleep hasn’t been great this week. I blamed the uncomfortable beds for the reason I couldn’t sleep on holiday last week but now I am home and I still can’t sleep. I can’t get comfortable in any position but I think that’s just a given at 34 weeks pregnant.

Best moment this week: My bestie and I went to the Spa yesterday. She is also pregnant and is due a week after me so we will be waddling around the spa together. It’ll be lovely to have a pamper and is just what we both need.

Miss anything? Being comfortable. Baby is still very high and I feel like I can’t breathe most of the time.

Movement: Baby girl is still moving around lots. I’m not sure if its because I am tired and a little sensitive but when she does kick now it makes me yelp in pain! Ok, so that is slightly dramatic but it does make me make a noise where I didn’t do this before.

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No labour signs. Although I did have a cup of Raspberry leaf tea last night and today I could hardly walk. I feel like a cripple and it has been really painful to walk anywhere. I have felt the need to physically hold the baby in. I had planned to go shopping tomorrow but I may have to have a rethink if it doesn’t improve.

Symptoms:I cant breathe very well. My breathing is very heavy. Today as I mentioned above has been particularly bad and I have been unable to do much walking at all. Even around the house! I want to remain as active as I can but if the pain doesn’t improve I don’t think ill be able too. I did think that maybe the baby massage I had yesterday could have loosened up my joints and caused it. I just hope whatever it is stops by tomorrow.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I feel full all the time. Full of baby so I don’t really want to eat. I then forget to eat and start to feel light headed and sick.

Belly button in or out? Definitely out. My tummy now has a nose.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. Although I feel like this has been quite a moany monthly update overall I am feeling happy. I guess we are all feeling slightly unsettled and I hope that we can find our groove in the next few weeks before baby arrives and our world gets turned upside down all over again.

How I feel? I feel a little panicked about how unprepared I am. I feel like I have a to do list as long as my arm and not enough time to do it all. I hope that once I have finished of Rosalie’s bedroom, sorted out the baby clothes and made a start on organising the baby’s room that I will feel alot better and more prepared.

Looking forward to: getting a few more jobs ticked off!
