Pregnancy Update – 6 and 7 weeks

Pregnancy Update 6 and 7 Weeks - Roseyhome, pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting

I have known about this pregnancy for a little over 2 weeks now.

I didn’t do a weekly update last week as we had a very busy week and I had to send my phone off to be repaired so I couldn’t check any of my apps. I didn’t intend to skip a week but film and writing an update just didn’t happen.

As I am under the recurrent miscarriage clinic they have allowed me to have an early scan which I had yesterday. I saw a little tiny blob with a heartbeat and I feel a lot more reassured now. I feel like this baby and I are ok. We are not out of the woods yet but it was so so lovely to see that little beating heart. Stay with us little one.

How far along? 7 weeks and 4 days

Due date? 6th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby is the size of a blueberry. It is 0.5cm in length and it weighs 0.5g. The baby’s tooth buds are forming and its leg and arm buds have grown longer and are beginning to segment into fingers and toes. The baby’s belly is taking shape and the pancreas and appendix are developing inside. The baby’s brain is growing and so are the eye lenses. I find it so amazing that the baby’s eye colour is already decided as it was determined at conception. I wonder if this baby will have blue eyes like Rosalie.

Maternity clothes: All Jeans and leggings are becoming a little tight. I am a lot bigger to start with than I was when I conceived Rosalie so I think that may be why. I didn’t buy any maternity jeans with Rosalie but I think I might have to this time round and I am already considering purchasing a pair. I don’t want to jinx anything just yet though.

The leggings and jeans I do have are become quite uncomfortable by the evening. Today I decided to try some maternity tights that I purchased recently but it hasn’t really worked out. I don’t have a substantial bump yet so the tights aren’t staying up, and keep falling down so I won’t be wearing those again for a while.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks. I have started to apply body butter every night.

Sleep: Sleep hasn’t been too bad. I tend to get up at around 4 am to go to the loo but thankfully that is it. After two nights of camping last weekend my bed feels like the most comfortable thing in the world!

Best moment this week: The scan. It was so wonderful to see that little beating heart. I have only told my mum and nan I am pregnant and they weren’t very enthusiastic to be honest. I don’t think they wanted to get excited yet after my previous miscarriages. I just feel that Nick, Mum and Nana are still on the fence about the whole pregnancy. It was nice to be able to show them the picture and offer them some reassurance that it is actually happening.

Miss anything? Yes! I seem to be craving cheese, like rich, gooey, creamy sauces. I mainly want to eat brie which is not allowed so that’s unfortunate. I’m also missing hot baths. I love a hot bath but I have been too scared to have one so I have been having tepid temperature baths and they are NOT the one!

Movement: No

Gender: We don’t know yet because it’s too early. I will definitely be finding out. I would love a little boy but we will see.

Labour signs: Nope. Thank goodness!

Symptoms: I have been experiencing quite a few symptoms, which again is reassuring. My boobs have grown massively. I have had morning sickness in that I have been feeling nauseous but I haven’t actually been sick. I also find this to be worse in the evening. I feel like when I get hungry or it nears lunch time I need to eat immediately, like that second otherwise I start to feel sick.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular, I just have a general feeling of nausea. It hasn’t stopped me eating though! I’m going to be the size of a house come 40 weeks! I also can’t stand bad smells. I have to make nick to all the smelly jobs.

Belly button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On. They shall be staying on for the whole time… hopefully.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.

How I feel? I feel good. I feel much more relaxed after my scan. I feel more positive about this whole pregnancy when I think back to my last two. Fingers crossed this baby stays strong.

Looking forward to: Another scan. The hospital have offered me another early scan in two weeks’ time which is good. I have another milestone to get to and it’s only a few weeks away. In the same week I have my midwifes appointment so hopefully by then there will be a little bit more to see on the scan.
