As you may have read in my recent post things are going to get a whole lot more travel related up in here. Welcome to the first instalment of our Mediterranean cruise holiday.
Today I will be starting with the first place we docked at during our cruise, Gibraltar.
I must admit I wasn’t that exacted about going to Gibraltar. Nick and I flew there last year on a way to Marbella and we hadn’t been that enamoured with it.
This time round, I loved it! As a first time cruiser I think that it is the perfect place to stop at first. Being part of the UK, it gently lulls you into what to expect on a cruise in a familiar setting.
We had no plans for our day in Gibraltar and instead took a leisurely 20 minute walk into the town Centre from our ship for a look around.
You enter the Centre under a fort wall and are greeted by a lovely square surrounded my quaint restaurants. You also have familiar favourites such as costa coffee and burger king.
The main high street is just off of the square and you will find a variety of shops there such as h and m, mothercare, m and s, dorothy perkins as well as lots of spanish style pharmacies and designer sunglasses shops.
In Gibraltar all shopping is tax free so you can make some excellent savings on designer items and luxury beauty brands. My best find, a pharmacy just off the square that stocked Jo Malone candles and perfume. I was in heaven!
We had a lovely day strolling around the town, popping in and out of the shops. We treated ourselves to a delicious ice cream and headed back to our boat.
It turns out I only took a three photos of our day in Gibraltar, Fail! but I vlogged lots so take a look at our mediterranean cruise holiday vlog over on my channel to see more of sunny Gibraltar.
