Pregnancy Update – 30 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 30 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

Welcome to this week’s pregnancy update – 30 weeks. We are now in single figures, 9 weeks and 6 days to go.

How far along? 30 weeks and 1 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing?  Baby is 39.9 cm long and weighs 1,319 grams. She remains the size of a pumpkin. Baby is now able to see, and even though it is dark inside my uterus, her eyes are wide open and are scoping out the environment. Baby girl’s brain is growing rapidly, as a result baby will not gain much weight or height this week.

Red blood cells are now forming in baby’s bone marrow. Baby is shedding the lanugo present on the skin. However, the hair on baby’s head is actually growing thicker at this point. Fluid is now present in the alveoli (air sacs) inside the lungs to help little one take that first breath at birth. Baby girl may begin to position herself for birth anytime from now on.

Maternity clothes: I haven’t purchased anything new and I don’t think I will now. I’m still not really wearing much maternity stuff as I think it makes me look huge!

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I’m still applying body butter every night. Although I did my a mango scented one and it’s stained my sheets yellow. Oops!

Sleep:  Sleep has been better this week. I havn’t felt baby girl move as much at bedtime. I think she must have found a more comfortable position in there.

Best moment this week: We start the painting this weekend! It’ll be hideous whilst we do it but I’ll be so glad when it’s done.

Miss anything? Being comfortable. I am starting to find being sat at my desk really uncomfortable. I am sat for 8 hours on a Monday and it feels horrible. I feel as though my lungs are squished the whole time.

Movement: I am starting to feel really big kicks. Little lumps, which I think must be feet, keep protruding out and if you poke them she usually kicks back.

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No labour signs. I havn’t had any Braxton hicks or anything like that. I didn’t really have any of this with Rosalie so I don’t expect to this time round either.

Symptoms: My main new symptom this week I guess would be starting to feel these really big kicks. She is starting to push out which is quite uncomfortable. Boobs are getting bigger. No milk or colostrum has come in yet. Bump is getting bigger. I am still feeling really tired, by about 8pm at night I am struggling to keep my eyes open. I do think I am sleeping better at night as a result though.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Belly button in or out? Out.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy just tired.

How I feel? I am feeling good this week. I’m very tired again this week and I am not sure if it is the anaemia. I feel as though I could close my eyes and sleep for a week. Rosalie has also taken to getting up slightly earlier than usual which hasn’t helped. I am looking forward to getting the girls rooms painted as then I can start to sort stuff out although I also have our holiday to pack for.

Looking forward to: getting through this weekend! We have two bedrooms to paint but once it is done I will feel so much better. I will be able to start to get organised and sort out all baby girl’s things. This will make me happy!

The lung compression is awful. For some reason my baby dropped a few weeks ago (I’m 29 weeks now) so she’s hanging out quite low down, which makes my bump stick out further but doesn’t compress my lungs. Not sure what I prefer!

I felt like this baby did it for a few days and I was really achey down below but now I think she is back up there! I don’t think we will ever be comfortable these days

I tried on all my holiday clothes the other night and I couldn’t feel more whale like. Getting dressed is such an effort. I’ve bought one maternity swimsuit and I might just stay in that the whole week! xx

Aw bless you! This was the stage of pregnancy that I enjoyed most, apart from the constant tiredness x x

Oh really?! It’s not too bad but I am just so uncomfortable. I hate not being able to do stuff I normally can as well x
