Pregnancy Update – 26 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 26 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2
Welcome to my 26 Week Pregnancy Update. These week’s are flying by!

How far along? 26 weeks and 1 day

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby weighs 760 grams and is 14.02 inches long. This week baby girl remains the size of a Papaya. Baby weighs one and a half pounds and can now move rhythmically in time to music or sounds. The little brain is beginning a period of growth and over 50 percent of your baby’s energy will be used for this purpose. The lungs are developing air sacks (alveoli) and the membrane that allows for the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen is now thin enough to let your baby take a breath by the end of the week. Even though baby’s skin is loose and wrinkly at this point, it will fill with fat during the third trimester. Baby’s eyes are completely developed and the brain is able to register various stimuli such as sound and light.

Maternity clothes: I am still not wearing that many maternity clothes but I am enjoying dressing my bump and showing it off a little more now it actually looks like a bump and not just a big tum!

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I’m still applying my body butter although not every night, every few nights at best.

Sleep: Nick has been on Nights this week so I have actually been sleeping rather well. I LOVE falling asleep in the bed on my own.

Best moment this week: A few little things have arrived for the baby. Much to Nick’s dismay. Today we got rid of the double bed in baby girls nursery so as soon as I decide on a new bed for Rosalie I can move the cot in.

Miss anything? Not really as I have pretty much gone back to eating and drinking as I normally would. Baby is fully developed now so I figure nothing can harm her now.

Movement: Lots of movement. This baby is moving so so much. I’m not sure if its because this is my 2nd pregnancy and there is a lot more room in there that there was first time round but I feel her move constantly.

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No

Symptoms: I’m starting to feel a lot more tired but this has meant I have slept better as a result. I am definitely starting to feel a lot more pregnant. I am getting achey and struggling to do things. I tried to do a bunny hop with Rosalie today at gymnastics and there wasn’t a chance! Daddy will be hopping from now on.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Belly button in or out? In. Although it looks like it is on it’s way out. My belly button stayed in for my whole pregnancy last time round so if my belly button does pop out I guess that means I am bigger this time around.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.

How I feel? I feel ok. We are making progress on the home renovation front. Nick assures me it will be finished before the baby arrives although I just can’t see it. It is still nice to see some progress.

Looking forward to: Rosalie’s 30 month check with the health visitor on friday. It’ll be nice to hear that she is doing well.

Oh wow. Your pregnancy is just flying by although I bet it doesn’t feel like that for you. I found my second and third pregnancies so exhausting.
