The other day I picked up a few bits and pieces from Store 21 to add to my living room and make it a little cosier for the coming winter months. Those of you that have been reading my blog for a while will know we only decorated the living room a few weeks before Rosalie was born. You can watch the video of our living room transformation
here and read the blog posts here:
From start,
to finish. So there wasn’t too much that needed to be done. I think these finishing touches just make it a little more winter ready.
This is what I bought:
I also bought a cream throw for our newly acquired ikea chair which isn’t pictured. I was too impatient and wanted to see what it looked like as soon as I got in before I had a chance to take any pictures!

Fur Cushion |
I bought three cushions to add to my cushion collection. Store twenty one are currently running a buy one get one half price promotion so I got the stag and fur cushion in this deal. Both cushions were £9.99 and so I got both for £14.98.

Stag Cushion |
The clock cushion was £4.99 in the sale.

Clock Cushion |
I couldn’t decide whether to get the clock cushion or the stag one. I had settled on the clock one and then when I got to the till they said it wasn’t in the buy one get one free offer as it was in the sale. So naturally I ran back and picked up the stag cushion as well! I don’t actually think the stag and clock cushions go together very well so at the moment I have the clock cushion facing inwards with the back on display :-s

Cushion Pile |
I kind of like it though, I think the white goes well with all the other cushion colours on the sofa. I think if I had to clocks showing it would be too much.

New chair |
The throw I mentioned earlier is cream and grey in a herringbone pattern with tassels round the bottom. The Ikea Poang chair it is covering was originally red so wouldn’t have looked good in the living room as it was. You can buy removable covers for the Ikea Poang but it worked out to be quite expensive. This throw was a bargain at £6.99! I think it looks great and fits in with the room nicely. The star blanket hanging over the back of the chair is from asda and we use this as a play mat for Rosalie.

Next item I purchased was this grey chest. Before I bought it we didn’t have anywhere down stairs to store Rosalie’s toys. This meant if we wanted to play with her with one we would have to run upstairs and get one which was becoming a pain! We needed something with a lid so that Ralph (the dog) couldn’t get in and steal her toys but I didn’t want anything that would take up too much space. When I saw this chest I thought it would be perfect. The chest was £19.99 originally but they were on offer with £5 off so I payed £14.99 for it.
It matches the room scheme excellently!
The last item I bought was this little box. I’ve been looking for something to store my car keys in for a while and I thought that this little box would be just right. And it is!

Keys |
I love that the little shelf in the hall looks so much tidier now. I can’t remember exactly how much this was and I have taken the tag off now but I think it was around £7.

Hall Shelf |
I’m really pleased with my purchases and I think by just buying 6 items I’ve made the living room feel a whole lot cosier and dare I say it… Christmassy!

You’ll find me here. After I’ve lit all my candles, I’ll be snuggled up with my babe in the middle of the cushion pile.
