20 months old Rosalie June, and you are such a little fire cracker. You genuinely love to make people laugh by pulling silly faces and saying silly things. you are so funny and a delight to be around.
Weight: 14kg, 2 stone and 2 lb.
Daily: Our routine is pretty much set in stone since I returned to work. I work Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays so on those days I get up at 7am and quickly get ready before going in to get Rosalie at 7.30am. She is normally awake from about 7 am and I hear her chattering away to herself on the baby monitor. I will then go in and get Rosalie out of her cot, give her a cuddle, change her bum bum and get her dressed. We then go downstairs and have breakfast.
On our home days, we go downstairs as soon as Rosalie wakes and snuggle on the sofa in our pj’s watching tele. Rosalie will have her milk whilst mummy has her coffee.
We have lunch anytime between 12pm and 2pm depending on what we are doing and when Rosalie naps. Rosalie only has 1 nap a day now. Sometimes she has one before lunch and other times she will have a nap after lunch depending on our plans.
We have dinner at around 5.30pm every night. Rosalie and I sit at the table to eat together. On Mondays and Tuesday’s daddy trains so it’s just Rosalie and I for dinner. On Wednesday’s we go to Nanny Tracy’s house and on Thursdays and Fridays we all have dinner together.
Rosalie goes to bed at 7pm. She has a bath and story every other night. On the nights in between I will change her into her pyjamas and we go downstairs to watch in the night garden together before bed. Her bath nights are usually Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Playtime: Rosalie’s favourite thing to do at the moment is to chase Ralph around. As soon as she wakes up she asks where ‘Ralphy’ is? They run around the house together causing mischief.
Rosalie has really started to role play this month. She has been playing in her kitchen cracking eggs, and cutting up cake and putting it on plates.
Rosalie has a Peppa pig play house and she has started to play with it properly. She will put the items in the right room for example the bath in the bathroom. She will feed the little figures dinner in the kitchen, then give them a bath and then put them to bed. It’s so cute!
A few months ago Rosalie wasn’t really into her books but after making a conscious effort to get her back into them she is really enjoying them again. On bath nights we will go into Rosalie’s room and read stories in her Teepee. Rosalie will choose which books she wants to read.
Rosalie goes to three activity classes a week now. On Mondays she goes to gym joey, on Wednesdays she goes to gymnastics and on Thursdays she goes to baby ballet. Rosalie was really starting to enjoy baby ballet but we have just had two weeks off due to the end of term and she starts again this month. I hope she likes it!
Bedtime: Rosalie goes to bed at 7pm every night. Bath nights are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. On bath nights we have play time in the bath followed by towel snuggles and book reading in Rosalie’s tepee. On the other nights after dinner we will go upstairs and get ready for bed and then come down and watch cbeebies bed time whilst Rosalie drinks her milk.
Feeding: Rosalie is still such a good eater. I keep expecting it to change but it hasn’t yet. Rosalie nearly always finishes everything that is on her plate. If I think she has been eating for a while I will ask her if she is finished. Her usual response is ‘Noooooooooo!’
Sizes: Rosalie is firmly in 18 – 24 month clothing now. She still wears some leggings that are size 12 – 18 months but all new leggings I am buying in 18 – 24 months or 2 – 3 years.
She is still in size 5 nappies.
Milestones:
Teeth – We haven’t had any more teeth this month.
Talking – Rosalie’s speech has come along so much this month. She can now say ‘Ranma’ (Grandma) really clearly. She also says ‘Randad’ and ‘Papa’. Rosalie is starting to string more words together. If I ask her what she wants for breakfast she will answer me, the answer is nearly always pancakes! She understands pretty much everything you say to her now.
She says so many words now there is no way I will remember them all but I will try! She can say ‘doggy’, ‘woof’, ‘oh no’, ‘yea’, ‘Teddy’, ‘Baby’, ‘Uh-oh’, ‘Bye-bye’, ‘Nana’, ‘nar-nar’ ‘tickle-tickle’ ‘Dada’ ‘Mama’ ‘More’ ‘Pot pot’ ‘wee wee’ ‘poo poo’ ‘Bis-kit’ ‘Choc-lit’ ‘Breakfast’ ‘look’ ‘this’ ‘ralph’ ‘Ran-ma’ (Grandma) ‘coat’ ‘door’ ‘bin’ ‘up’ ‘dirty’ ‘nanny’ ‘downstairs’ ‘out’ ‘stuck’ ‘sheep’ ‘grapes’ ‘apple’ ‘cheese’ ‘dinosaur’ ‘peppa’ ‘george’ ‘see saw’ ‘cake’ ‘yellow’ ‘outside’ ‘papa’ ‘grandad’ ’mummy’ ‘daddy’ ’nana’ .
Potty training – We still haven’t done any business on the potties. She will occasionally sit on one without a nappy. I am going to wait until the summer to try this properly though as I think it will be a lot easier.
Ditching the Dummy – This has gone really well. Rosalie now only has her dummy at night time or when she is napping. She still asks for it every morning and sometimes we have tantrums when I don’t let her have it. Other days she will give it up to you quite happily.
Rosalie, you are hilarious and such a pleasure to be around. I love our days at home together. I love exploring with you and discovering all the new things you can do. You are amazing and are learning new things every day. I love you x
