Lazy day hair

I’m calling these lazy day hair styles but really these are my every day hairstyles.

I’ve never been one to have perfectly coifed hair. If my hair ever looks particularly ‘done’ it’s because one of my best friends is a hair extrodinaire and she has done it.
In the morning, I tip my head upside down, give it a little shake, not even a brush, and I’m good to go.

There are some days though when my hair is so badly in need of a wash that no amount of jush-ing can fix it. I’m talking 2 days after 2nd day hair here… who am I kidding 7 day hair, Mom life and all.
These hairstyles will get you a few extra days.
Pony tail: Yep the pony. It’s so versatile. The sporty, high swingy pony to rock with your trainers and a tee or the smooth and sleek, low pony suitable for the office or even a night out.
Bun: The mum bun. How I have my hair 99% of the time. I don’t think there is ever an occasion when this isn’t suitable. It’s so practical, off your face and out of the grasp of little fingers.
Dry Shampoo: There are some days when you need your hair down. If you make up doesn’t go quite as you’d planned or you have a huge spot that needs hiding, we’ve all been there. This is where dry shampoo comes in. Turn you head upside down, give your hair a spritz and then rub it in as if you were shampooing your hair (we don’t want any white bits) flick your hair back over and voila. Messy, tousled waves without the salt spray. This hairstyle works particularly well if used the day after wearing a mum bun as it gives the hair added wave.
Hat: When all else fails, grab a hat. Any one who’s anybody has a fedora these days. You can pick one up for a tenner in Primark. No matter how bad the hair sitch with this on no one will be any the wiser and you’ll look like a super trendy fashionista.

With baby number 2 in due in 10 days this is the exact type of post I need to be reading lol! Loving all the ideas. I've actually stocked up on a lot of dry shampoo lol. I need to practice a bun though as I love them on other people and can't seem to master it myself, even with one of those doughnut things x

Yes definitely stock up on dry shampoo! The newborn baby essential. Don't bother with one of those doughnut things too much hassle 🙂 Turn your head upside down to gather all the hair on top of your head twist it round into a bun shape and then just wind a hair elastic round the secure. Top tip! The best buns are made when your not looking at what your doing. If you do it in a mirror they never look as good. Natural all the way. Good luck with the new baby mama! Xxx

I wish I could pull off the 'mum bun'. I have short hair now so I cant do it but when it was a bit longer it still didn't look right 🙁 x

I think it is easier the longer it is. Mine is really quite long now but as it permanently lives on top of my head you can never really tell. Xx

This is the second post I read today about dry shampoo. I am seriously considering getting this in the next few days because I sometimes don't get the time to wash my hair every 2 days when hubby is gone down the country to work.

Pony tail and dry shampoo are my go-to lazy hair dos! I had my hair cut into a bob, but made sure the stylist left it just long enough that I can put it up on days when I can't be bothered to wash my hair!

I am quite tempted to go for the chop some days but then it's so easy. I worry if have to style it more and that is just too much effort! Lol xx

I'm always looking for lazy hair do's! These sounds great! My hair is always so flat I end up straightening it most days.. Eeek.. Dry shampoo is my saviour though for those mornings where my hair doesn't look great and could do a quick freshening up! I find the Toni and guy ones help add texture too 🙂 xx

My lazy hair do is definitely up in a pony if it doesn't quite need a wash or a bun if it does haha. With winter coming I can cover it with a hat if needs be again now haha! Mum life has made me a bit lazy with hair who has time for rollers and straightners these days!!xx
