I haven’t had Maeve weighed yet! Oops, I’ll go on Tuesday and let you know.

DAILY

Every morning Maeve wakes at 5am. I usually keep putting her dummy back in until about 5.30am when I give up and just feed her. Maeve WAS sleeping through until 6am which is a much more acceptable hour to start the day so I am still trying to get back to that.

I try and leave it as long as possible before I feed Maeve because as soon she is finished feeding thats it. She is awake and wont go back to sleep.

Maeve and I stay in bed until Rosalie wakes and joins us this can be any time between 6am and 7am, we all stay in bed until 7am when we start to get ready. I get up first, I clean my teeth, do my make up and get dressed. Then I clean Rosalie’s teeth and get her dressed for Preschool and do her hair. Lastly I change Maeve’s nappy and get her dressed.

We head downstairs for around 8am to have breakfast. I make Rosalie some toast, and I feed Maeve whilst she eats it. At 8.30am we start to get ready to leave for Preschool. I put Maeve in her pram and we walk Rosalie to preschool.

We are normally back by around 9am. Sometimes Maeve will fall asleep in the pram on the walk home, other days I pop her in her Moses basket for a nap. I then usually do a quick tidy up of the house. I’ve normally left it in chaos whilst trying to get out of the door! If we don’t have plans for the morning I try to get on with some work whilst Rosalie is at Preschool. It’s not long before 11.45am rolls around and it’s time to go and collect her. I put Maeve in her pram again and we walk up to school.

Once we are back home I make Rosalie her lunch. Sometimes I feed Maeve before we go and collect Rosalie but if I haven’t I’ll feed her whilst Rosalie has her lunch.

We then do whatever we have planned for the day, we’ll go out or stay in and play. Maeve like’s going on her play mat and really plays with the hanging toys. She also likes the jumperoo but I think she favours the play mat more now. I usually feed Maeve again at around 3pm/4pm.

We have started to wean Maeve so at 5pm we all sit at the table together to have dinner. We are puree feeding Maeve at the moment as she isn’t 6 months old yet. We have gradually built up the amount of puree Maeve is having and we are now giving her 4 table spoons. After Dinner I bathe Maeve and put her in her sleepsuit ready for bed. I still bath Maeve in the shnuggle tub as she seems to really like it in there, even though she is now getting a little big!

After her bath I breastfeed Maeve, she normally falls asleep on the boob. I have started to put her down in cot in her own room at 7pm, she stays there until I dreamfeed her at 10pm.

PLAYTIME

I would say Maeve is enjoying the play mat the most this month. She is really starting to play with all the hanging toys now.

She also watches the tv if its on.

Rosalie loves playing with Maeve and we spend alot of time all playing together. Maeve can often be found playing whatever Rosalie wants to play.

BEDTIME

Maeve now goes to bed at around 7.30pm. I give her a bath, put her in her pyjamas, swaddle her and then feed her. She usually falls asleep on the boob. I have started to put her to bed in her own room and she’ll sleep in her cot until 10.30pm when I go in and dream feed her. I bring her back into our bedroom and feed her on our bed before putting her in our bed side crib to spend the rest of the night. I find this easier as Maeve wakes in the early morning and its easier to resettle her if she is next to me.

FEEDING

I have started to wean Maeve, we are just spoon feeding her at the moment but I will start to do that combined with baby led weaning next month. At the moment Maeve is having 4 table spoons of puree at dinner time. So far she has had apple, pear, potato and banana. She definitely favours the sweeter purees over the potato.

I still breast feed Maeve as well and she has roughly 5 feeds a day. These are around 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 7pm. I am still demand feeding so if she cant be settled by anything else I will feed her.

I feed on both sides on each feed. I have stopped writing down what boob I feed on each time and I can usually work out which side I have fed on first, last by the size of them.

I have had a couple of days away from Maeve last week and it really messed with my supply although I tried to express whilst I was away from her.

I am still managing to express a little each day. I use a Hakkaa pump during the first feed of the day, It collects milk from whichever breast I am not feeding on first. I usually collect between 1 or 2 oz. I put this in the fridge and continue to add to it each day until I have 5 oz. I then put this in the freezer.

SIZES

Maeve is still in 3-6 month clothing at the moment. I have sorted out Maeve’s drawers so all of the 6-9 month clothes are now in her wardrobe and drawers ready to go. I am trying to be excited about all the new clothes she has to wear rather than sad that all her old clothes wont be used again.

Maeve is in size 4 nappies.

MILESTONES

Blowing Raspberries – Maeve is doing this alot! She is also very dribbly so it is getting everywhere.

Rolling – Maeve hasn’t rolled over yet. She is very nearly there and I thought she was going to do it on Thursday but she isn’t quite there yet.
Supporting her head – Maeve can hold her head up for quite a while now.

Sitting up –  Maeve sits up in her high chair rather nicely now.
Making sounds – Maeve is very noisy and shouts at you if she wants attention. She is definitely a sqawker. I don’t remember Rosalie being as loud but i’ve just looked back at her 5 month update and it seems she was the same.
Grabbing – Maeve reaches out an touches the hanging toys on her play mat. She can grab hold of them now and pull them down so she can really investigate them. She takes her dummy out on her own now.

5 Months old Maevie Mouse. She is such a good baby and sleeps ALOT. Maeve will have a sleep after nearly every feed. It’s funny because Rosalie hardly slept at all in the day. I wrote in Rosalie’s 5 month update that she never napped for more than 30 minutes. I know you shouldn’t compare but Maeve isn’t as active as Rosalie was at this age. Rosalie was already rolling. It’s probably because she is sleeping all the time!

so adorable – Maeve is really beautiful! I always breastfed on demand, found it much easier than having too much of a routine x

She’s such a cutie. She’s doing really well. Chloe was a nightmare for evenings. Come 7pm she would be really unsettled.
