My Pregnancy Update – 33 Weeks.

How far along? 33 weeks and 6 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby is 43.7 cm long and weighs 1,918 grams. She is the size of a honeydew melon. Even though baby girl’s bones are hardening, the skull bones are still not solid and the skull bones are not fused together. This allows for baby’s head to reduce its diameter as it passes through the birth canal. Baby girl’s brain is developing more distinct functions and is capable of controlling breathing, digestive functions and body temperature. Baby can now tell the difference between day and night. Her lungs are almost completely ready for breathing on their own, and if baby was to be born now she would require only a little medical support.

Maternity clothes: We have been away on holiday this week so I have mostly been wearing loose maternity dresses and birkinstocks. I’m not sure what the weather is like back home. I’ll probably be back to over bump maternity leggings next week. Anything under bump is just too uncomfortable and makes me need to go to the toilet all the time.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I have been a little lax with the body butter application this week as we have been away. I must get back on it next week.

Sleep: Sleep has been truly hideous this week. We have been on holiday and it seemed like we had the hardest bed known to man in our apartment. It might just be that I am 33 weeks pregnant and nothing is comfortable right now, I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

Best moment this week: We have had a lovely week away in the sun. Just being away and having family time has been so nice. I’ve really valued the one on one time with my big girl.

Miss anything? Being comfortable. I feel those days are long gone. Travelling has been hard work. We have done a lot of walking which has been hard at times.

Movement: Lots of movement still. I feel like she never sleeps!

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No labour signs which I am very pleased about. I’m currently on the flight home from Fuerteventura so baby can come any time after tomorrow when I am back in the country.

Symptoms: I am feeling VERY pregnant. I pretty much waddle everywhere now. We have done lots of walking whilst on holiday and I have definitely felt aches afterwards. Bump feels ginormous and boobies just as big! I’ve lived in bandeau style bras all week so it’ll be interesting to see if I fit into my normal ones when I’m back home.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Yes. Yesterday I spent all day in the pool with Rosalie and I think I got a little dehydrated. I felt quite light headed in the evening and couldn’t eat any dinner as I felt so sick.

Belly button in or out? Definitely out. My tummy now has a nose.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. We have had the best week away. It’s been so nice to spend quality time with my girl but I am very aware of how unable to do things I am like running around with Rosalie. I am pretty sure this will be my last pregnancy now. I feel like I don’t want to miss any time with my girls in the future.

How I feel? I feel tired. I am writing this update on the flight home, after a long day travelling with delays. As wonderful as it’s been I am so ready to be home. We have a busy week ahead with Rosalie starting preschool on Monday too. We still have lots of work to do on the house but I can see it all coming together at last even if it is all at the last minute.

Looking forward to: getting home and sorting out the final pieces in Rosalie’s room.

Hope you enjoy a good nights sleep tonight – a bad mattress is the worst!

Oh Sarah! You’ve made me so broody, I miss pregnancy so much! I remember how uncomfortable this stage is, my whole body used to ache once I put Max to bed. Stay strong you’re nearly there xx
