Pregnancy Update – 25 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 25 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

Welcome to my 25 Week Pregnancy Update. It’s such a strange thing! I do feel very pregnant but the reality of having another little baby still hasn’t really set in. I don’t think it ever does until baby arrives really!

How far along? 25 weeks and 1 day

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby weighs 660 grams and is 13.62inches long. She is the size of a Papaya. Baby’s primitive memory is beginning to develop this week. This means that music and voices will be leaving an impression in baby girl’s brain. Baby’s spine has 1000 ligaments. 150 joints and 33 vertebrae. Blood vessels are busy developing inside the lungs and her nostrils are beginning to open. Now that baby girl has fully developed hands, loud noises may even prompt her to cover her tiny ears to shield them from sounds, how cute is that! Baby’s skin has now changed from translucent to a more opaque appearance. The cerebral cortex, the part of baby’s brain that is responsible for emotions, reasoning, planning, and the ability to solve problems, is the most prominent part of the brain at this point.

Maternity clothes: I have FINALLY ordered some maternity clothes, Yey! I have filmed a haul which will be up this week.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I have been a little lax on applying body butter again, must be better!!

Sleep: Sleep has been ok. I am finding that baby is moving so much at the moment that she is waking me up at least a couple of times every night. I lay on one side and she kicks so I move on to the other side and she kicks so I had been settling on my back. That was before I googled the best sleeping positions when 25 weeks pregnant. I read that the left side is the best, with right side next and that lying on your back was the least favourable position so I’ve now decided that even if baby grumbles I’ll be lying on the left!

Best moment this week: Purchasing a Moses basket, sh*t just got real!

Miss anything? Sleep. It’s starting to get annoying that my sleep is so disturbed. I guess baby is just getting me prepared for what it will be like when she arrives.

Movement: So much movement! I swear Rosalie didn’t move this much. I feel like this little wriggler is kicking me all the time. As I type, she is digging in under my ribs whilst simultaneously kicking me down the bottom! I’ll be glad when she gets a little bigger and she can’t move around as much.

Gender: It’s a Girl.

Labour signs: No

Symptoms: Huge bump, well for me anyway. I seem to have a small bump compared to most people at this stage of pregnancy. I was the same with Rosalie. My boobs are growing. I am getting a lot more achey, and I am starting to lose bladder control, I keep having to run to the loo!

Anything making you queasy or sick? I havn’t felt very well today. I have been in the office all day and the heating doesn’t work so despite being wrapped up I feel very cold and shivery. I feel abit fluey if I am honest but I really hope I’m not ill as I can’t really have any more time off work.

Belly button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.

How I feel? I feel good. We have had some lovely news this week which has taken a lot of worry off of our shoulders. Nick has started to crack on with our garage conversion which is good. We only have 14 weeks to go and I really want it to be finished before baby arrives. Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to: finishing our home renovations and preparing baby’s nursery. I would really like to get baby’s room set up before she arrives so I can sort out all her things.

Such a cute bump. I was the opposite way around – my first baby was far more active than my second. Funny how it can be so different!

I love getting prepared! It’s so much fun. I just need the nursery to be ready so I can start sorting through all wardrobe. That’s the best part xx
