Pregnancy Update – 21 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 21 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

How far along? 21 weeks and 5 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby weighs 360 grams and is 10.51 inches long. Baby looks very much like it will look at birth, only smaller. Baby may be busy sucking its thumb, yawning and kicking up a storm inside my uterus. Hair is growing on baby’s head and her facial features are now all formed. There is no need for an ultrasound to hear the heartbeat, as a stethoscope is powerful enough to pick up the rhythmic beating now. The bone marrow is making blood cells by now, a job previously done only by the liver and spleen. Even baby’s intestines are absorbing small amounts of sugar from the ingested amniotic fluid. Baby is now able to blink and the eyelashes and eyebrows are formed as well.

Maternity clothes: My mum gifted me lots of maternity clothes or normal clothes suitable to be worn during my pregnancy for christmas. I have so much stuff now I don’t think I need to buy anything else!

Stretch marks: I am lucky enough to have not had any stretch marks yet. I am still applying body butter nearly every night but it is bit of a chore!

Sleep: Sleep hasn’t been too bad this week although I have found that I am feeling very tired. We are in the period between Christmas and New Year and I have taken a well deserved break and haven’t really done much at all. I have found that this is making me feel more tired though!

Best moment this week: We haven’t really done much at all so there is nothing to look forward to really. I have enjoyed the break and I have definitely been making the most of it.

Miss anything? Not really… I have been a little bit naughty and I have eaten a few things I shouldn’t over christmas like blue cheese and brie, It’s the cheese! Always the cheese.

Movement: The baby is moving around a lot more now. I feel her moving all the time, she seems to be a real wriggler. I don’t remember Rosalie moving this much.

Gender: It’s a Girl. We had another scan at the foetal medicine unit and they confirmed it was a girl, which is reassuring!

Labour signs: No

Symptoms: I have definitely noticed that I have been getting a lot more breathless of late. It’s not that bad as I know it will get so much worse as the pregnancy progresses! My boobies are feeling humongous, I normally have little boobs. My bump has appeared all of a sudden and it seems huge!

Anything making you queasy or sick? I am happy to report there has been no sickness or queasiness this week.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy

How I feel? I have been feeling pretty MEH lately. Although it has been wonderful to have a rest and a break over the christmas period, I am ready to get stuck into life. I feel like I am not very productive at the moment and I don’t really like feeling like that. I’m looking forward to getting back into the game and getting organised for 2017.

Looking forward to: getting lots of organising jobs ticked off my list.

Aw a lovely post. I love these. I documented each of my pregnancies in a personal journal each. (This was before I had a blog) I was looking through them just the other day and it is such a lovely memory to have. It’s so special. That is good that you are feeling happy and ready to get back into life. It can feel like that after Christmas. And pregnancy can be a lot of work so you are doing fantastically. Xx

What I love about pregnancy is that you can get away eating chocolate all the time and make it out as if i’s got to do with pregnancy. Ha But since my last pregnancy which was 2 years ago I have been always eating chocolate daily now.

He he. It is a good excuse to eat lots of what you fancy. Before Christmas people kept bringing in sausage rolls. I ate about 3 a day! xx

Aww I’m yet to be a mum but I’ve read a couple of these posts from some of my friends and I think they’re fab! You’ll always have them to look back on and in the future your little girl will be able to learn about the journey you took while pregnant with her. I wish you all the happiness in the world 🙂 xxx
