Pregnancy Update – Week 13

Pregnancy update - 13 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

I am ILL. I have a cold and I am really tired. This makes for a very grumpy mama. Nick is also working nights this week so he is tired too and basically insufferable. The clock change has meant that Rosalie is getting up at 6am every morning rather than 7am regardless of when she goes to bed so she is also getting tired. We are not a happy household this week! I hope baby is enjoying their time in the tum.

How far along? 13 weeks and 3 days

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? Baby is now about the size of a kiwi. However even at this size it is still difficult to determine the sex on an ultrasound. Baby now has the ability to open and close its fists and to make sucking movements with the muscles in the mouth. All the organs of the baby’s digestive system are developing into their final shapes including the stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines. Even the baby’s lungs are practising breathing (but only from the amniotic fluid). The lungs won’t actually breathe oxygen from the air until birth. The urine that baby excretes into the amniotic fluid is not harmful and is quickly removed via the umbilical cord. Baby is 2.91 inches long and weighs 23g.

Maternity clothes: I purchased a two maternity bras this week. I also think I need another pair of maternity tights as I only have one pair that are being worn on rotation. It is just too uncomfortable to wear normal tights!

Stretch marks: No Stretch Marks yet. Ive got a little better at applying body butter, by that I mean Ive applied it once this week. Oops! I must do better.

Sleep: The clocks changed last week and this has meant that Rosalie gets up at 6am every morning rather than 7am, regardless of when she goes to bed. It is really beginning to tire me out! When I can sleep I am sleeping pretty well. Rosalie woke up 3 times in the night last night which to be honest does not happen that often. It took me a long time to fall back to sleep after I had settled her each time though so today I am like the walking dead.

Best moment this week: I don’t think there is one! I have a stinking cold, which is making me feel more nauseous. I am sooo tired this week and I have no motivation to do anything. The house is a tip because no one else cleans up after themselves and I just want to hibernate until Christmas.

Miss anything? Not feeling like poo!

Movement: No real movement yet. I have felt a bubbling sensation but no obvious kicks.

Gender: Still unsure. I need to announce so I can share my scan picture on the instagram nub theory page and ask for peoples predictions.

Labour signs: Nope.

Symptoms: I feel more nauseous this week as my cold is making it worse. Most days I am able to manage it and I am not actually sick. Boobies and bump still growing. I feel really achey this week. I’m not sure if it’s pregnancy related or because I am feeling Ill but it isn’t nice.

Anything making you queasy or sick? My cold.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: I am feeling very sorry for myself this week so I would probably say moody.

How I feel? I really don’t feel very well, that with lack of sleep does not make for a happy mama. I also have no motivation to do anything. The house is a tip which also stresses me out but I have zero inclination to clear it up so I’ll just fester away here and hopefully I’ll feel better next week.

Looking forward to: Announcing. I am going to try desperately to get my announcement video filmed this week so I can post it and start to upload my weekly uploads. I feel like a big black cloud is looming over me that I really need to get rid of. Sorry for being so miserable this week!

Oh no, sorry to hear you’ve been feeling under the weather lovely. Having a cold during pregnancy is just THE worst. Clock changes also suck! (especially where children are concerned!) Hope you manage to get some much needed rest and feel better soon xx
