How far along? 8 weeks and 4 days
Due date? 6th May 2017
How is baby doing? Baby is the size of a Raspberry. It is 0.63 inches in length and it weighs 1g. This week the baby’s reproductive organs will either become testes or ovaries. Even though the sex of the baby was determined at conception, the gonads took until now to become one of the other. Baby’s face has an upper lip, eyelids and tip of the nose. A tiny tongue is growing inside the small mouth. The little fingers and toes have begun to form too.
Maternity clothes: I did try on my maternity bras that I had kept from when I had Rosalie, They fit already which is slightly worrying as I have a long way to go yet! I have been choosing to wear tights and leggings mostly as jeans are just too uncomfortable although I have ordered some Asos maternity jeans.
Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I am keeping up with the body butter applications.
Sleep: Sleep has been fine this week although I’m still getting up for my nightly toilet trips.
Best moment this week: The best moment this week was telling Nick’s mum and dad that we are expecting again.
Miss anything? Hot baths. Pate, Pate on toast is a regular breakfast in our house normally but I have stopped buying it because I can’t have it but Rosalie keeps requesting it.
Movement: I have been feeling a fluttering sensation but it’s too early for actual baby movements so I think it is probably my womb expanding or something.
Gender: We don’t know yet but I will be booking an early gender scan as soon as I can.
Labour signs: No
Symptoms: Everything seems to be expanding, randomly my feet seem a little wider?! I have been feeling sick in the evenings and so I have just opted to go to bed early.
Anything making you queasy or sick? If I don’t eat immediately, as soon as I get up or at lunchtime I begin to get light headed and feel queasy.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
How I feel? I feel good. There have been lots of positive signs and I still haven’t had any bleeding so I am hopeful that everything is going ok this time.
Looking forward to: The next scan. Although there are many positive signs that this pregnancy will go ahead, there is still a doubt in my mind. After 2 miscarriages I do worry I may have another one.

18th November 2016 at 12:54 PMLong way to go. I’ve never worn any maternity clothes. All my clothes fit through both pregnancies as I mostly wore leggings.
