Pregnancy Update – 14 Weeks

Pregnancy update - 14 weeks - roseyhome - pregnancy, pregnant, baby, mummy, parenting, pregnancy after miscarriage, pregnant with baby no.2

14 weeks. This pregnancy is going so fast! I can’t believe I still haven’t properly announced yet. The good news is I have filmed my announcement vid and I just need to edit it so hopefully I can do it and get it up this week. That would be good.

How far along? 14 weeks and 1 day

Due date? 7th May 2017

How is baby doing? My little baby is now twisting and turning all the tiny joints in the body, and continually moving around inside my uterus. Lanugo – the tiny hairs present all over a baby’s body – is growing. These will eventually form the fingerprint pattern on baby’s fingers. My baby’s skin is very translucent at this point and all the tiny veins in the body are visible. The lungs continue to develop and baby is practising breathing with the amniotic fluid on a regular basis. The baby may already be sucking its thumb by now. My peach sized baby can now frown, grimace and squint and baby’s reflexes are becoming stronger and more frequent. The baby’s arms are now proportionate to the body, but the legs are still somewhat shorter. The baby is 3.42 inches long and weighs 43 grams, it is the size of a peach.

Maternity clothes: My maternity jeans and maternity tights are now regular staples in my wardrobe. My outfit of choice seems to be jumper dresses with tights and boots.

Stretch marks: No stretch marks yet. I still haven’t got into a routine with my body butter I am just so tired at bed time I seem to just flake out.

Sleep: Sleep has been terrible this week. Nick was on nights last week so whatever time he finished he would wake me up when he came back to bed. Since the clock’s changed Rosalie has been waking at 6am most days. She normally sleeps till 7am when my alarm goes off. The night waking coupled with the early start has made me really tired, I am also a little under the weather which is not helping. I can’t remember the last time I slept in later than 7am in the morning.

Best moment this week: I have definitely noticed a little bump forming this week. Probably because I ate my weight in cake this weekend, oops!

Miss anything? Still missing a nice, HOT bath.

Movement: I have felt a few little flutters so I keep trying to hold my belly to see if I can feel them again.

Gender: Nope but only 2 weeks until we find out.

Labour signs: No

Symptoms: No additional symptoms this week really, except my bump getting a little more pronounced. I would say the nausea is starting to taper off too. I don’t feel as sick as I did.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Still those horrible pregnacare max tablets.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy

How I feel? I am still suffering from a cold so I do feel ill from that. I am also incredibly tired. Nick has been working most weekends so I don’t even get a break at the weekends. I just want a little lie in until 10am!

Looking forward to: Very excited about our gender scan in 2 short weeks. It is all coming around so quickly it’ll be Christmas before we know it!

I really miss being pregnant. It’s a brilliant idea to do a week by week like this. I wish I took pictures and recorded it! Great for the memory bank. x

That’s the neatest little bump! I’d like to say the tiredness eases up but it’s definitely harder the second time around so hope you manage to get that lie in soon 😉 xx
