Today you are 19 months old baby girl. You seem so very grown up. You are not very well at the moment. I think your teeth are hurting you but you are dealing with it very well.
Weight: No, I still don’t know, bad mummy!
Daily: Rosalie has started to get up a little earlier lately but I think it is because she has had some teeth coming through. I still don’t get her out of her cot until 7.30am and she is quite happy to sit in her bed chattering away to herself until I am ready. On working days I go in, change her bum, get her dressed and then we go downstairs and have our breakfast.
On our home days, we go downstairs as soon as Rosalie wakes. We watch TV whilst Rosalie has her milk and I drink my coffee.
We have lunch anytime between 12pm and 2pm depending on what we are doing and when Rosalie naps. Rosalie only has 1 nap a day now. Sometimes she has one before lunch and other times she will have a nap after lunch.
We have dinner at 5.30pm every night, Rosalie and I sit at the table to eat together and sometimes daddy is there depending on whether he is training or not.
Rosalie goes to bed at 7pm. She has a bath and story every other night. On the nights in between I will change her into her pyjamas and we go downstairs to watch in the night garden.
Playtime: Rosalie is a dare devil and loves nothing more than to through herself around the room like a crazy loon. Over the last few weeks she has learnt to climb up on to the window sill, stand up behind the sofa, lean forward flip herself over and roll off the sofa onto her feet. She does this over and over again.
My friend just gave Rosalie some Peppa pig toys, Rosalie’s favourite is daddy pig’s car. Rosalie loves pushing him around the house.
She has played with her kitchen a lot more this month and can name quite a few fruits now… ‘apple’, ‘nar-nar’ and ‘grapes’.
I have made a conscious effort to read to Rosalie more this month and I am pleased to say it has worked. She has got back into her books and often brings them over for you to read to her. We have started to read her bed time story to her in her tepee. We lie down on all the cushions, she loves it in there!
Rosalie goes to three classes a week now. On Mondays she goes to gym joey, on Wednesdays she goes to gymnastics and on Thursday she goes to baby ballet. Rosalie wasn’t too sure on baby ballet at first but now she is getting quite into it.
Bedtime: Rosalie’s bed time routine hasn’t changed since last month. Rosalie goes to bed at 7pm every night. I give her a bath every other night. On those nights once we have finished our dinner, usually at around 6pm we go upstairs and have a bath. I wash her hair and wash her body in some cream I was prescribed from the doctor. After her bath, we have towel cuddles and then Rosalie will pick out what pyjamas she wants to wear. We then read a story before bed. On nights where we don’t bath Rosalie we usually go upstairs and get ready for bed and then come back down to watch in the night garden before bed.
Feeding: I don’t think we have found a food that Rosalie won’t eat. She definitely loves sweet things the most with cake and chocolate being her favourite.
Sizes: I have gone a little crazy and bought Rosalie rather a lot of new summer clothes. I am going to have to sort out her wardrobe and drawers because they are now overflowing. Most of her leggings are size 12 – 18 months but I have started to put her in more 18 – 24 month tunic tops.
She is in size 5 nappies.
Milestones:
Teeth – Rosalie gained one more tooth this month but she is teething at the moment so I think she is due a few more.
Talking – Rosalie chatters away all the time and has even started to string a few words together. She says ‘There it is’ and ‘Up high’.
She says so many words now there is no way I will remember them all but I will try! She can say ‘doggy’, ‘woof’, ‘oh no’, ‘yea’, ‘Teddy’, ‘Baby’, ‘Uh-oh’, ‘Bye-bye’, ‘Nana’, ‘nar-nar’ ‘tickle-tickle’ ‘Dada’ ‘Mama’ ‘More’ ‘Pot pot’ ‘wee wee’ ‘poo poo’ ‘Bis-kit’ ‘Choc-lit’ ‘Breakfast’ ‘look’ ‘this’ ‘ralph’ ‘Ran-ma’ (Grandma) ‘coat’ ‘door’ ‘bin’ ‘up’ ‘dirty’ ‘Nanny’ ‘Gran-dad’ ‘downstairs’ ‘out’ ‘stuck’ ‘sheep’ ‘grapes’ ‘apple’ ‘cheese’ ‘dinosaur’ ‘peppa’ ‘George’ ‘see saw’ ‘cake’. She says ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ and if I ask her if she has finished her dinner she will answer. She understands a lot more than she can say and will go and get things I ask for.
Potty training – We still haven’t started potty training yet. We have a few potty training books and 2 potties so are fully equipped for when it begins. Rosalie is starting to notice when she has been to the toilet and tells you sometimes which are all good signs. I am going to wait until the summer though as I think it will be easier.
Ditching the Dummy – I have decided that this is the month that Rosalie and I ditch the dummy. She is becoming too reliant on it. She can now ask for ‘num num’ and asks for it over and over again. She is also not happy with just one, oh no! she must have about three in her hands at all times. Rosalie is a little under the weather at the moment with a cold and her sore teeth but as soon as she is better the dummies are going.
Rosie, You are truly scrumptious! Such a happy little thing even when you are not very well and your teeth are hurting you. You don’t hit or kick and have never pushed or anything like that. We might have that to come though! :-s You are a gorgeous little girl and I just wish I could spend more time with you.

My mother tells me I was a complete nightmare to potty train so I'm really hoping my little one doesn't take after me in that respect! Good luck with ditching the num-nums! 🙂
