Day in the life of a Working Mama

Unfortunately I have to work.

I was never meant to work. Nick and I had planned that after my maternity leave I would hand in my notice and be a stay at home mum.

But, life didn’t work out as I had planned. Nick got a new job, with a pay cut, and so I had to go back to work. It was a tough pill to swallow.
It’s hard to accept and if I am honest I still feel cheated.
I am very lucky in that Rosalie is looked after by her Grandma and Nanny for the 2 and 1/2 days that I work so we don’t have to pay childcare. It makes me feel a little bit better about leaving Rosie, knowing that she gets to spend the day with her Grandparents.
I thought that by now I would have got my shit together. At the end of every week I still feel like I have made it through by the skin of my teeth.
Anyway, one of my youtube subscribers asked if I would film a day in the life of our average working day, so here it is…

Love this post. It provides such a great insight into your daily life, and how much a working mum really does!

I tried to edit it down but I also didn't want to cut bits out because ultimately that's what working mama life is like, super busy! Xx

Aw bless you I can totally see how it is a tough pill to swallow. Wishing you all the best and you are so very lucky to have the grandparents help you out as childcare is so expensive x

I am very lucky, it makes going back to work worthwhile. It would be so heart breaking to be working for very little because your wages are eaten up by nursery fees xx

Great post and even though it's a tough pill to swallow, at least those little arms get wrapped round you when you get home and slabbering kisses may very well follow too! #Love2Blog

Ha! Rosie's reaction when I got through the door wasn't quite what I was after but most days she is pleased to see me xx

Oh bless you – I love your honesty. I have found that my intention was to "go pro" with the blog because I was earning more from that than at my part time job BUT I have now found that because I want to grow and succeed more, I am working more hours and effectively doing less with the kids than I thought I would be. Humph. H x

It's so hard to get the balance right isn't it. I found, with work and Rosalie. It's hard to keep the blog and channel going xx

I bet it's hard having to leave your little one but makes you appreciate the time you have together even more.

I workes for a while as a temp in Tesco and absoloutly hated leaving my little girl. She is now in nursery and have been thinking about going back to work but she only does three hours in the morning and there just aren't the right jobs around her hours. X

It's so difficult. It only really works if you can work from home and even then as soon as you have dropped them off its time to pick them up again xx

I'm also a working Mama and boy is it hard sometimes. You seem to be juggling it all well! I work in the office for 3 days, Bella goes to nursery 2 of those and to my Mum 1 day. I then care for my dad on my 'days off' although at the moment that's 7 days a week. Nursery fees swallow a massive chunk of my income sadly but it's my only option! I'm forever wondering what it would be like to be a SAHM xxx

I'm at work (supposedly working :)) and can't watch the video for obvious reasons so will watch it tonight when I'm home. After having the kids I now work 3 days and actually think it's a good balance. They are in nursery two days and my parents have them for a day. I don't think I'd be cut out for life as a SAHM though x
