Grocery Haul and Meal Plan – 7th February 2016

I am going to be making use of my slow cooker again this week. When the weather is as horrendous as it is right now all I want to do is to batten down the hatches and EAT. Warm, comforting soul food is the order of the day. This slow cooker pulled pork recipe is a new one for us but I like the sound of it.
Our Chicken Kiev’s are hand made by the butcher and are delicious. A perfect lazy week day dinner.
Chilli con carne. There is nothing more warming than a bowl of chilli on a cold, wet winter’s day. This slow cooker recipe is supper easy. Just brown the mince and onions. Throw it in the slow cooker with the other ingredients and there you have it. A simple and delicious, hassle free dinner.
So here’s what else we will be eating this week:::

Monday: Chicken Pasta

Wednesday: Chicken Kiev
Thursday: Chilli Con Carne
Friday: Steak
Saturday: Chicken Drumsticks
Sunday: Roast Turkey
You can take a look at our weekly food shop and all the ingredients we bought for these meals over on my YouTube channel.

Sounds delicious. Reading meal plans always inspires me for what to pop on ours next week. We haven't had kievs for years might have to see if I can find some nice ones or find a recipe! We had chilli over the weekend perfect for a rainy day xx

Nick's mum gets the Kiev's from the butcher and they are really nice. So easy when they are all done for you too. Xx

These meals sounds lovely. I really need to get more organised in the kitchen and start doing a weekly meal plan, it would probably help me with trying to lose weight.

I'm sure it would help. Occasionally I change what I've planned if I really dont fancy it but that is very rare. Most of the time I'm pretty good and manage to stick to it xx

Meal planning really helps us. We all sit down as a family at the weekend and plan the next week's meal. Everyone gets to choose one thing (within reason… they can't all choose pizza every night for example). It really helps us make sure we eat healthily and as I batch cook quite a lot, it keeps costs down too. x

That's such a lovely thing to do as a family. Nick and I discuss but Rosie doesn't have much input yet. That's so nice that all the children are involved xx

This all sounds gorgeous. You are so right, warming and satisfying food is what you want when the weather is like this. We tend to eat a lot of casseroles at this time of year. And chilli is always a firm favourite. Those chicken kievs from your local butcher sound amazing. Yum yum. Hugs Lucy xxxx
