The house is mostly finished now. We just have a snagging list as long as my arm that we hope to get done before Christmas.
Here is the last room I have to show you, our study/guest bedroom. I’ve managed to sneak in a little bit floral in this room. So here’s what we did.
Floors and Walls
The walls are painted in Dulux cotton white and the ceiling is painted in Dulux brilliant white.
Again the carpet in this room was a neutral, sandy colour. As it’s not too offensive and we were trying to keep costs as low as possible we didn’t replace it.
Curtains
The curtains are old and were made by my mother. They used to hang in my brothers bedroom so they must be over 20 years old. They are very special to me. I hope that one day our little boy will have these curtains hanging in his room.
This is the bed I had in my old bedroom when I still lived at home. It is (was) a pine, queen size (slightly smaller than a double) bed. I painted this in Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Bedding
The floral duvet cover was from BHS I believe, in their closing down sale. It’s reversible so you can have it two ways but I preferred this side.
The floral paintings I picked up from various car boot sales and antiques fairs. I painted the frames in Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint so that they matched and would co ordinate when hung on the wall together.Desk
The desk in this room was my old dressing table but we repurposed it as a desk. All I did was clean it up a little.
Desk Chair
The desk chair I painted and recovered myself. The chair is painted in, yep you guessed it, Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. The fabric I used to recover the seat pad is Cath Kidston. You can view the blog post on how I did this here.
Filing Cabinet
This filing cabinet was an old office style filing cabinet that I bought from eBay. It was originally a dark brown. I painted this in Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Chest of Drawers
The pine chest of drawers was again another item of furniture I had in my old bedroom.
Sewing box/crochet basket
The sewing box and crochet basket are both from Cath Kidston.
Notice board
The notice board was another DIY project and you can see how I made it in this blogpost here.
Items on desk
Folders and boxfile
The folders and box files are from Cath Kidston
Pen pot
The pen pot is an old mug from Sainsburys.
Pink pot
The pink pot came from a long dead houseplant I was given as a gift. The plant was originally from tescos.
Computer
My beautiful Apple Mac.
Pink storage box (on top of filing cabinet)
This holds lots of bits and bobs. The box was from ikea.
That’s it! I think I have covered everything in this room but if you spied anything you like the look of and you want to know where it is from let me know. We didn’t buy anything new for this room so most of it is old things we have repurposed, but I shall try and rack my baby brain to remember where its from!
